Job Purpose:


Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, this position is responsible for the overall auditing and monitoring of maintenance processes in compliance with the standards of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), and policies and procedures established in company-approved manuals including the Maintenance Procedures (MPM) and Control (MCM) manuals.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations and internal audits in accordance with the quality assurance manual's annual audit schedule and followup on internal audit findings as required.
  • Review records to ensure compliance with CARs) and MPM/MCM requirements
  • Perform quality/surveillance checks on company maintenance department activities and aircraft.
  • Create detailed reports with respect to the auditing process.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are tracked to completion within company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide oversight of tool calibration and records.
  • Assist with oversight of training programs, exams, and records as required.
  • Perform the duties of a safety management system (SMS) investigator, as required.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the company's mission, vision, and values.

  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable Transport Canada rules, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications:

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position include post-secondary education with 5-7 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license (M1 and/or M2) required. Previous quality control and quality assurance experience is considered an asset. The incumbent must successfully complete company quality assurance auditor training requirements.
