NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - As a Guest Services Agent / Concierge, you will represent the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay. Responsibilities include welcoming guests to the establishment and determining their needs, registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, assisting with recommendations and reservations for local amenities and attractions, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.

Job Duties Include:

  • Be an ambassador of the Seaside Hotel and Executive Hotel & Resorts brands
  • Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
  • Promote the property in your interactions and possess a sound knowledge of attractions, nightlife, and special services of the surrounding area to enhance the stay of our guests
  • Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Must possess fluent knowledge of the city and geography, keeping abreast of arts & entertainment and local trends, building relationships with local restaurants & tourist attractions
  • Maintain and update the hotel's database of Concierge related directories on an ongoing basis
  • Know daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
  • Addressing and resolving guest concerns in a timely manner escalating issues to the Manager on Duty when you are unable to do so
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to Management and Supervisors
  • Maintain a good working relationship and communication amongst all colleagues and departments
  • Processes guest checkouts and handles monetary transactions
  • Assist Valet Team with retrieving and parking guest vehicles
  • Escort guests to their rooms on arrival and assist with their luggage
  • Maintains customers' privacy and security at all times.
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Concierge role within a luxury property is a distinct advantage.
  • Previous hotelrelated experience, PMS knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
  • Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, debit, check, and cash handling policies and procedures. Able to properly secure guest information
