About Us:


The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), three large Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Applied Health Sciences and Advanced Health Care Practice and four Research Centres.

The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Responsibilities:


The Coordinator, EDIDA and IPE will provide support to the Faculty of Health Sciences' EDIDA and IPE strategic and operational plans.

Working closely with the Program Manager, Academic and the Assistant Deans IPE and EDIDA, the Coordinator will organize and support the work of the various committees, task force and working groups to ensure the goals of the faculty and its schools related to EDIDA and IPE are met.


This role will participate in the initiatives and contribute to the mission and goals of these important portfolio's by synthesizing pertinent information, conducting reviews of existing research, collating resources, evaluating best practices, and making recommendations for EDIDA and IPE integration and implementation to policies, curriculum, and student, faculty, and staff recruitment practices specific to the faculty.

This role blends both administrative functions and project management support for EDIDA and IPE program initiatives across the faculty.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Education or Management, ideally with a focus on Health Equity, Equity Studies, Human Rights, Human Resources, Law, Humanities or Social Sciences or another field related to equity, diversity, and inclusion and/or experience in interprofessional health care delivery and design
  • Experience:
  • 2 years' experience coordinating projects and program initiatives
  • Experience in interprofessional health care delivery and design
  • Previous experience coordinating Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) or Interprofessional Education (IPE) initiatives across an organization preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act and associated equity seeking legislation, regulations, anti-racism, anti-Black racism, critical disability, gender, race, and anti-oppression theories
  • Demonstrated commitment to, passion for, and knowledge of EDI and/or IPE
  • Working knowledge of key EDI related legislation, concepts, issues, and trends
  • Experience working with levels of data, producing data for analysis to support EDI and IPE work, providing expertise to colleagues, and presenting data for a wide range of audiences
  • Experience with reading, analyzing, and interpreting research related documents, and then synthesizing the information into digestible and relatable formats
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data and make recommendations to support the EDI and IPE strategy and initiatives
  • Demonstrated research skills, including literature/policy scans, qualitative and quantitative analysis, attentive to discourse
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated strong scholarly writing
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and social media platforms
  • Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and professional learning activities and events
  • Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
