As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Petal, your role will be pivotal in identifying new opportunities, nurturing leads, and ultimately fueling the sales pipeline.

You'll step into a dynamic environment where your daily efforts will directly contribute to our overarching goal of driving revenue and expanding our customer base.

About the role
As a BDR, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Petal's solutions, ensuring you're well-equipped to represent our offerings to potential customers;
  • Conduct thorough research to identify and qualify leads and target accounts;
  • Qualify inbound leads based on specific criteria such as need, timeline, budget, and decisionmaking authority;
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records in our CRM system, ensuring all relevant information is documented and organized;
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to seamlessly hand off qualified opportunities and ensure a smooth transition throughout the sales process;
  • Strive to meet or exceed predefined targets and KPIs;
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and market dynamics; Provide regular reports and insights to your manager and fellow team members, fostering transparency and alignment across the organization.

Who you are

  • Previous experience in a Business Development Representative or comparable position;
  • Track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets;
  • Intrinsic selfmotivation and a tenacious "hunter mentality";
  • Unwavering determination and resilience when confronted with challenges and setbacks;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage tasks ensuring timely followup and engagement with leads;
  • Curiosity and a growthoriented mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt;
  • A passion for software sales and a desire to pursue a career in this field; Since you will be interacting with various clients, some of whom are English or Frenchspeaking only, proficiency in both English and French (spoken, written, and read) is required.

It's a plus, if you have:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and sales automation platforms like Salesloft or Outreach;
  • Experience working within a highgrowth SaaS or technology company;
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector in Canada.
