THE ROLE

Picture yourself coordinating and managing recreational programs and services for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations in a deployed setting. As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be part of a team of adventurous individuals who thrive on travel, meaningful work, and collaboration. Embrace the chance to deploy abroad alongside CAF personnel as a civilian, bringing with you a positive attitude and a knack for adapting to fast-paced, ever-changing environments. Your role involves planning and executing recreational activities, overseeing clubs, and organizing events to boost the morale of deployed military members, ensuring they remain mentally and physically prepared.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Travel and Tourism or a related field

Canadian citizenship

Valid Canadian passport

Valid Canadian driver's license

Experience

Coordination and planning of recreational activities

Providing recreational information to clients

Administrative procedures

Scheduling, organizing, and overseeing activities

Providing travel information to clients

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential / French Essential / Bilingual an asset

OTHER INFORMATION

Selected candidates will undergo a multi-day paid training session in September. This training covers expectations, technical skills, and military practices, offering a chance to connect with potential team members. Completion of training is valid for 2 years.

THE LOCATION

Latvia:

Operation REASSURANCE supports NATO activities in Central and Eastern Europe. CAF engages in exercises in Latvia to enhance capabilities with partner nations. Experience Euro currency, Latvian language, and moderate weather.

DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT

CFMWS has been providing morale and welfare programs to deployed CAF members since 2000, inclusive of fitness, sports, and recreation.
