Accounting Generalist(Technical & Resource Support D)

$37.27/hour
Annual Salary:
$67,831.40

(Note:
Base Salary scheduled to increase to $71,562.13 effective 01 July 2023)
In this role, you will:
Prepare and post journal entries
Analyze and reconcile GL accounts
Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by staff in junior positions
Provide training on chart of accounts and FAST reporting system
Provide financial administration for Miscellaneous Grants, Scholarships, and Playground Projects
Assist in PeopleSoft Financials and HCM systems testing
Generate and post payroll journals from PeopleSoft HCM interface to PeopleSoft Financials
Prepare ad hoc reports for management
Assist with the implementation of various projects
Provide technical and resource support to the Division
Perform other duties within the job band as assigned
Qualifications:
Grade 12 plus a valid CPA designation
Minimum five years of relevant, senior financial accounting experience
Must be able to meet the following assessments: Excel (+70%) and applicable Accounting assessment
Skills/Knowledge:
Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as a in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of Canadian generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials an asset
