The Industrial Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. They are responsible for conducting maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to keep everything running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • Perform service and maintenance on equipment
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of parts and work orders
  • Take initiative to complete repairs efficiently
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems effectively
  • Provide updates on equipment issues
  • Collaborate with team members and provide hand-off information
  • Make recommendations for improving equipment efficiency
  • Follow maintenance procedures diligently

Qualifications

  • MANDATORY - Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician – 442A) or #309A Construction Electrician with relevant industrial experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical/controls problems
  • Experience with PLC systems
  • Knowledge of testing procedures for diagnosing and repairing equipment
  • Experience with DC Controllers and AC drives
  • Ability to work at heights and perform physical tasks

Assets

  • Experience with conveyors, sortation equipment, and cranes
  • Programming of PLCs
  • Experience with Maximo
  • Effective work planning and execution skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or independently
  • Technical training through apprenticeship
