**What you'll be doing**
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance of systems, equipment, and tooling by ensuring completion of preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components, parts, and tooling; managing staff. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with the core values and support our strategic plan.
- Accomplishes maintenance people related recruitment and training objectives by hiring, orienting, communicating job expectations, and onboarding completion with new maintenance staff.
- Managing employees by scheduling work priorities, coaching, guiding, mentoring, appraising job contributions, evaluating performance, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
- Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment and tooling by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
- Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment and tooling by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
- Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment and tooling by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and keeping up to date with industry changes or requirements
**What background will make you successful?**
- Minimum 5+ years in a maintenance leadership role in a manufacturing environment
- Millwright Red Seal 433A trade certification for the province of Ontario required
- Technical degree, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience (required)
- Dual ticket - Industrial Mechanic Millwright and industrial Electrician (preferred)
- Proven experience with welding, reading blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings
- Strong technical, problem solving, planning and troubleshooting skills with proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process related issues to root-cause.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma is a strong asset
