The EllisDon Insurance Claims Team requires an Insurance Claims Examiner to review and interpret insurance policies including all certificates, insuring agreements, terms and conditions and endorsements, receive claim facts from sites (or wherever the claim arises) and report claims to EllisDon's third party administrator and insurer(s).

The Insurance Claims Examiner will also liaise with EllisDon's insurance brokers, project teams and EllisDon's internal corporate departments.

You as a Assistant Manager, Insurance & Bonding will:

  • Assist in the day to day operations of the Insurance & Surety department by performing required duties
  • Ensure bonds are issued accurately
  • Assist in managing insurance & surety within the P3 process
  • Input insurance coverage on a timely basis
  • Review corporate policies for accuracy & coverage
  • Review Owners policies for accuracy & coverage
  • Gather and prepare information required for corporate renewal
  • Assist in claims management & reporting as required
  • Review insurance requirements in contracts
  • Liaison with broker & seek advice to ensure no coverage gaps

Is this the right role for you?

  • A minimum of five (5) years insurance claims handling experience on construction, auto, property and general liability claims. We will also consider equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years construction claims handling experience
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with CCDC contracts is an asset
