BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is hiring a newly created position, Coordinator, Culture & Leadership.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Engagement & Retention, and supporting the Director of Culture & Leadership, Leadership & Organizational Development, and Engagement & Retention teams, the position acts as the primary coordinator for culture and leadership projects designed to build leader and team capacity and drive a positive and productive work environment.

What you will do

Effectively plan, develop, implement, and evaluate projects and initiatives that will inspire, engage, and retain our vast employee base. Ensure projects run efficiently, adhere to protocols, policies and procedures and privacy legislation, and are completed within timelines. Recommend next steps and improvements to the Managers and/or Director. Support enquiries of leaders across the organization to facilitate growth, engagement, and development throughout the organization. Help disseminate information related to our projects and build partnerships to leverage internal strengths and build capacity within a complex health care system. Identify best practice strategies and activities across BCEHS to support the strategic priorities of the Employee Experience team, the broader People, Culture and Diversity portfolio, and PHSA as a whole. Evaluates and measures project outcomes and process improvements utilizing various ways of knowing to collect and communicate the stories and narratives of the organization. Monitors and submits expenses, variance reporting and budget reconciliation. Adheres to program budget. Monitors and administers designated websites and intranet pages. Order and maintain event and facilitation supplies. Coordinates, promotes, develops, tracks and a variety of leadership, engagement and retention programs, events. MS Teams and Zoom meeting set up and production Knowledge of setting up breakout rooms in interactive learning and team building sessions. Setting up and managing course shell in a learning management system. Monitoring and triaging inquiries in the shared inbox. Other administration duties as required.

Qualifications

A combination of education, training and experience in Human Resources, Education, Leadership, Project Management or related discipline. Three to five (3-5) years of experience, ideally in a health, social services, government, or community organization.

What you bring

As a change agent who inspires others, you play the role of collaborator, curator and educator, working with all BCEHS departments, services and programs to develop partnerships, adopt new practices and inspire others. Leads and implements Culture and Leadership projects and initiatives across BCEHS in consultation with the Managers and with input from relevant partners. Develops project plans and timelines, identifies project deliverables, tracks project progress and evaluates outcomes. Identifies project barriers or process problems and supports their resolution for the successful implementation and maintenance of projects/initiatives. Ability to liaise with all people including leaders and staff to develop Culture and Leadership initiatives. Provides training on tools and processes as required and oversees the development of education and training materials. Utilizes data collection methods such as surveys and focus groups to solicit input and feedback to evaluate and measure change. Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Site Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system. Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.) Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure Indigenous Cultural Safety lens applied holistically. Travel (province-wide) will be required from time to time as needed. Tech-savvy in such programs as Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Canva, and other technical programs will be required. Coaching credential/certification will be an asset. Start-up experience will be an asset.
