The Human Rights Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial Tribunal established by the Human Rights Code ("Code") to provide dispute resolution services in human rights matters.

The Tribunal receives, mediates, and adjudicates complaints. The Tribunal also provides public education and information regarding its processes and procedures. The Human Rights Tribunal consists of a Chair who is the chief executive officer, Members and support staff.

The Tribunal is accountable to the legislature through the Minister of the Attorney General and functions independently of government on all matters related to adjudication.

As an adjudicative tribunal with broad quasi-judicial powers, the Tribunal operates in a manner similar to a court, but with greater flexibility.


Under the general direction of the Legal Advisor/Registrar, the Case Manager administers all the case management activities from the time a complaint is received to final disposition.

Each Case Manager manages a high volume caseload within a quasi-judicial environment and maintains control of all steps in the process.

The Case Manager is the primary Tribunal staff person for communication and coordination of complaints with complainants, respondents, associated participants, Tribunal Members, the Legal Advisor/Registrar, and the Chair of the Tribunal to ensure efficient, timely, and correct disposition of complaints.


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years postsecondary education.
- a minimum of 3-4 years directly related experience in a high-volume case management environment;
- a minimum 2 years in a progressively more responsible position where a knowledge of administrative tribunals, legal process, relevant legislation, and advocacy is gained.
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience

About this Position:

Three (3) full time positions are available.
