As an integral member of interdisciplinary team, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)provides assessment and treatment for adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
The successful candidate will work in a progressive multi-professional team, participate in rounds, meetings and quality initiatives and assist with coverage across other clinical service areas as necessary.
Provides assessment and treatment for adult patientsThe successful candidate will work closely within a high functioning, multi-disciplinary team participating in rounds, HNC specific committees and quality initiatives to support the complex needs of this patient population
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
~ Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
~2 years' experience in an acute care hospital, preferred
~ Recognizes and acts within the scope of practice of a speech-language pathologist
~ Understanding of health care teams and how the skills and competencies of all members contribute toward patient management
~ Compliance with legislation outlined in Regulation of Health Professions Act (1991)
~ Compliance with departmental and hospital safety, emergency and infection control procedures
~ Experience in development, implementation and monitoring of quality indicators, preferred
