Your Opportunity:


Clinical Workforce Planning (CWP), part of Health Professions Strategy & Practice, collaborates with and supports other teams, departments, and portfolios to understand and inform workforce decisions and strategies.

This ensures AHS is able to respond to changes in population health needs, service and capacity planning priorities, government policies, educational requirements, and advances in care.

CWP also engages stakeholders across the continuum of care to identify gaps and ensure comprehensive planning for future workforce needs and new models of care.

Consistent, relevant, and accurate workforce analytics and planning supports AHS to employ an efficient, effective, and sustainable workforce that delivers high-quality healthcare.

Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, Workforce Plans & Evaluation, the position is part of a small provincial team that works independently while maintaining a positive team dynamic centered on respect, engagement, growth, and shared purpose.

The team is responsible for providing consultation on our current and future workforce and for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that workforce planning is evidence based and aligned to key organizational goals and priorities and that progress is monitored.


Description:

The CWP Advisor is a provincial role with a high degree of responsibility in collaboratively developing and supporting workforce plans and evaluations

The incumbent will:

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, supporting and facilitating different individual and integrated health professions and departments through the steps of workforce strategic and action planning.

Provide expert advice using evidence on current and projected clinical workforce requirements and priorities. Conduct workforce research and analysis, including literature reviews, environmental scans, data analysis, and interpretation. Develop reporting and communication materials including briefing notes, proposals, presentations, and data visuals, e.g., infographics. Support clinical workforce optimization strategies, including evaluating new or evolving innovations of care.

Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to projects or initiatives, including translating the implications from clinical health human resource workforce analysis, trending, modeling, and forecasting into comprehensive, actionable insights and recommendations.

Other responsibilities include providing routine clinical workforce analysis and reporting as well as developing clinical workforce profiles for departments, programs, health professional groups, zones, sites or other Health Professions, Strategy & Practice corporate departments to advise on how the clinical workforce is functioning on an ongoing basis.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a post-secondary degree in a healthcare area, epidemiology, health economics, business administration, human resources. or other related area. Master's level degree is preferred. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience working with healthcare providers is an asset.

Human resources experience e.g., client services, job evaluation, labour relations, HR shared services and/or policy interpretation. Facilitation and consensus-building experience with healthcare providers and other diverse stakeholders. Change management, process improvement, and/or project management in a healthcare environment. Understanding of workforce and patient population characteristics; quantitative and qualitative analysis; and human resources administrative data.
