ABOUT THE ROLE
Doman Building Materials is an exciting place to work as a Human Resources Generalist. We are excited to add a Human Resources Generalist position based in Vancouver. The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to our front-line leaders and employees in various regions across Canada. A major focus of this position full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding.


Our Human Resources department's scope of work includes recruiting, performance management, employee relations, labour relations, payroll, eLearning and training, intranet management, health and safety, health benefits, and pensions.

Operating in every province, except P.E.I., provides an opportunity to work with managers and employees in multiple provinces.


As a member of a 14-person Human Resources department, you will be an integral part of the day-to-day operation of a very busy Human Resources department that supports multiple divisions across Canada.

We function as a very cohesive team with plenty of support and cross-training so that everyone grows in their roles.

Our primary focuses are to provide professional Human Resources guidance and support to the business leaders.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Provide Human Resources services and guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Coordinate Human Resources activities for the employee lifecycle.
  • Assist with projects and programs for corporate or other provinces as assigned.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Human Resources

  • 3+ years corporate recruiting experience
  • 3+ years experience as a Human Resources Professional such as Generalist, Specialist, Business Partner, or similar capacity
  • Understanding of employment law

Personal Attributes

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Strong relationship building skills, and communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of duties and responsibilities.

EDUCATION

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
