This is a 12-month mandate in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.


The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality.

Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights.

Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.

Here's what your daily life will look like:
In close collaboration with Oxfam's in-country team members, your mandate will be to:

  • Collaborate with the Oxfam team in Honduras and with the local partner organizations to develop a strategy in order to strengthen their capacity regarding women's rights and gender justice issues, while taking account of their respective needs;
  • Support the team and the partner organizations with the procedures related to women's rights, including the formulation and management of their projects, as well as with monitoring, evaluation and learning;
  • Encourage the adoption of feminist principles, with the purpose of raising awareness among the team and partner organizations.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have university degree in social sciences, or any other relevant field;
  • Have 3 years of relevant experience regarding this mandate;
  • Have relevant experience with women's rights and/or gender justice issues;
  • Be fluent in Spanish, spoken and written (required);
  • Master the Office Suite.

En estrecha colaboración con los miembros del equipo de Oxfam en el país, su mandato consistirá en:

  • Colaborar con el equipo de Oxfam en Honduras y con las organizaciones socias locales en el desarrollo de una estrategia para reforzar sus capacidades sobre los temas de derechos de las mujeres y de justicia de género, de acuerdo con sus respectivas necesidades;
  • Apoyar al equipo y a las organizaciones socias con los procedimientos relacionados a los derechos de las mujeres, incluyendo la formulación y gestión de proyectos, y también el seguimiento, la evaluación y el aprendizaje;
  • Promover la adopción de principios feministas, con vistas a sensibilizar al equipo y a las organizaciones socias.

Para este mandato usted debe:

  • Ser ciudadano.a canadiense o tener la condición de residente permanente en Canadá;
  • Tener un título universitario en ciencias sociales, o cualquier otro campo pertinente;
  • Tener al menos 3 años de experiência pertinente para este mandato;
  • Tener una experiência pertinente sobre los temas de derechos de las mujeres y/o de justicia de género;
  • Poseer el dominio del español, hablado y escrito (obligatorio);
  • Poseer el dominio de Microsoft Office.
