Estiatorio Milos a renowned industry leader of fine dining in Greek cuisine is currently looking for a Restaurant Captain to join our Toronto team.

Reporting to the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager, the Restaurant Captain will act as the Milos brand ambassador. The captain will orchestrate a memorable guest experience by fostering a warm, pleasant and welcoming environment. They lead by example and act as impeccable hosts, always delivering elite service of the highest caliber. The Restaurant Captain will curate the guest's culinary experience by recommending food and beverages to guests, implement and follow standard operating procedures for service and organizing duty roster of service staff.

What you will do as a Restaurant Captain
Champions the brand's vision and values and contribute to a culture of positivity and high standards
Manage and coordinate the serving staff during shifts
Train new servers on restaurant procedures and policies
Ensure smooth operation of the dining area
Take customer orders and serve food and beverages
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery
Create an environment that is warm, welcoming and filled with positivity for guests and employees
Anticipate guests' needs and ensure that service exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience
Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to make recommendations
Ensure accuracy when entering orders into the POS system
Monitor food quality and presentation standards
Inspect and detail dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety
Monitor the cleanliness of section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
Follow all food safety standards and systems
Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
Responsibility of safe and informed ordering for allergen guests.
Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently
Work as a team with co-workers: view the entire restaurant as your section when opportunity allows.

Here is what we are looking for
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a of head waiter in a fine dining restaurant
Proficiency in food handling, cash handling, and team management
Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
Ability to lead and motivate a team of servers
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Experience in interviewing and training new staff members
Basic cooking knowledge is a plus
Leadership skills with the ability to make quick decisions
