Employee Relations Advisors are responsible for providing coaching and guidance to managers and coworkers to assist the organization in effectively managing human capital. The Employee Relations Center (ERC) supports a wide variety of areas including questions regarding employee relations, policy interpretation, disciplinary actions and investigations. ER Advisors drive consistent practices with respect to disciplinary actions across the organization and provide information and guidance regarding company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Manages incoming requests (email and phone queue)
- Responsible for prompt and effective resolution of employee relations concerns.
- Manages multiple cases at varying levels of complexity.
- Accurately tracks, documents, and manages cases in the ER case management system daily.
-Provide counsel and guidance to all levels of leaders and coworkers to effectively resolve cases.
-Ensures that all associate matters are handled with consistency, fairness and in alignment with our Core Values
-Identifies trends and proactively collaborates with HR COEs in developing an appropriate course of action.
-Facilitates HR related training that impacts associates, managers and/or business.
-Contributes to specific projects as determined in the HR planning process and participates in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
-Investigates and documents complex coworker complaints and disputes including claims of violation of Human Rights, Employment Equity Act, Canada Labour Code and Rights of foreign workers.
-Identifies appropriate investigatory process, interviewees and executes timely fact finding.
-Creates comprehensive investigative reports, memos.
-Works with legal counsel on lawsuit discovery and litigation preparation
-Meet with Executives to review findings and determine disciplinary action / next steps.
-Prepares documents for review by ER Sr. Director, Ethics & Compliance and Legal; and implements disciplinary action and/or recommends resolution
-Ensures proper documentation of inquiries, root cause, and resolutions.
-Gathers data and assists with litigation charge responses.
-Partners with the Benefits department on unapproved leave of absence.

Qualifications
-5+ years direct employee relations experience in a HR role.
-CPHR or CHRP certifications is a plus.
-KSAs
-Extensive knowledge of fair employment practices and Federal, State and Municipal employment laws and regulations.
-Knowledgeable of employment laws and regulations and interactive dialogue process requirements
-Broad business acumen of the company through communications and support of all divisions
-Capacity to understand people issues and their impact on the business.
-Extensive coaching, counseling, conflict resolution and consulting skills with the ability to influence others at various levels.
-Ability to reach agreements and consensus despite differing goals and priorities.
-Ability to provide both verbal and written information clearly and succinctly.
-Ability to use research methods effectively, including data collection and analytical skills.
-Ability to manage a high volume of issues concurrently.
-Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all issues.
-Experience engaging in the leave of absence and interactive dialogue process.
-Having worked within a centralized employee relations team for a larger company is a plus.
-Able to demonstrate complex problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
-Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
-Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
-Able to converse and write effectively in English and other local / regional language.
-Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
-Able to negotiate skillfully and promote/sell ideas persuasively.
-Understand, communicate, and collaborate effectively with people across various identities.
-Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
-Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
