Overview of the Role:

In the capacity of Head of Employee Relations at Maple Leaf Foods, you will be instrumental in steering the HR Employee Relations team. Collaborating with numerous manufacturing and distribution sites, you will manage all facets of Employee and Labour Relations. This role encompasses the strategic implementation of the Employee and Labour Relations framework and operational strategy across the network.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and support plant-level HR personnel on Employee Relations issues
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Maple Leaf Employee Relations strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Serve as the chief negotiator for Collective Agreements
  • Foster a collaborative and cohesive approach to Employee and Labour Relations
  • Ensure the effective development of labour relations competencies through training programs
  • Assist various sites in enhancing positive employee relations
  • Oversee and provide guidance on specialized projects

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations
  • Proven expertise in leading collective bargaining negotiations
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching and teamwork
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in data analysis and trend identification
  • Robust business insight and experience in labour analytics
  • Bachelor's Degree or completion of a College Diploma in Human Resources or a related field
