Summary

The Development Research Assistant will report to the Associate Director, Assay Development Operations and will participate in the development and qualification of cell-based assays, including flow cytometry assays. This role entails preparing experimental documentation for methods and performing development experiments. Furthermore, the Development Research Assistant will support development leads in the management of development studies.

Responsibilities

More specifically, you will participate in the following:

  • Develop and qualify multi-parametric immune monitoring assays;
  • Conduct development experiments;
  • Prepare and review required documentation for experimentation (ex: worksheets and working instructions);
  • Support development leads in managing studies (documentation, reagents, inventories, experiments, etc.);
  • Involved in problem-solving, such as sample processing and experimental design;
  • Write and review methods;
  • Record associated documentation relevant to the tasks at hand in accordance with appropriate SOPs and applicable GLP regulations and GCLP guidelines.

Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.

Main Requirements

  • Experience level can vary; however, a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role is required;
  • Good knowledge of antibody staining procedures, blood sample processing, cell cryopreservation techniques, and cell culture techniques;
  • Strong experience in flow cytometry;
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic work environment;
  • Ability to find solutions or preempt problems;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the English language sufficient to communicate, write, and carry out procedures;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Organized and detail-oriented;
  • Positive, professional attitude and team spirit;
  • Knowledge of GCP, GCLP, and GLP.
