Aviation Security Advisor

This is an interview position.
To interpret Canadian and US regulatory requirements relating to aviation security and its’ implication to FedEx’s operation, as well as to drive and implement effective policies and procedures with the objective to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, minimize security risks and enhance competitiveness. As subject matter expert, provides advise/guidance to workgroup/management on all aviation security related matters, including risks to FedEx’s air network. Represents Canadian Aviation Security internally/ externally and works/aligns with Engineering, Ground Operations, etc. to mitigate aviation security threats
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES
Post Secondary:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent
Professional accreditation/certification:
- Must be able to maintain required security clearances to support regulatory and aviation security compliance.
Minimum number of years required for entry to this joB
- Five (5) years Aviation within regulatory environment or related regulatory Security experience (e.g. security law enforcement)
Other specific mandatory experience requirements
- In the province of Quebec, must be bilingual (French and English).
Solid knowledge of the following:
- FedEx network, culture, policy, and procedures.
Computer literacy and proficiency:
- Security systems (i.e. CCTV)
- Microsoft Word - Standard level
- Microsoft Excel – Standard level (e.g. pivot tables)
- Microsoft Powerpoint—Standard leveL
Demonstrated strong analytical skills (conducts root cause analysis, completes audits, etc.)
Leadership skills (provides advice/guidance to field management, vendors, gov’t agencies, etc.; educates/trains employees/management, etc.)
Solid human relations skills (negotiating, courage to address/resolve conflicts when violations occur, may engage in challenging situations with Transport Canada Inspector, etc.)
Strong communication skills (oral/written/presentation) with ability to communicate to all levels within the organization, up to executive leadership
Proven investigative/research skills
