Our Facility Planner is responsible for accommodations related functions regarding systems furniture procurement and management, staff relocation, quality assurance compliance of service providers and maintenance of corporate standards. This is required to ensure WCB facilities meet the highest possible standards, and a healthy and safe workplace environment is maintained.

Your Facility Planner I responsibilities:

  • Maintain working inventory of systems furniture to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Provide instruction and supervision to installation contractor(s).
  • Process internal requests for staff moves, ergonomic and other changes to workstations.
  • Manage contracts and service agreements with vendors and suppliers.
  • Disposal, reuse, and recycling of systems furniture.
  • Create AutoCAD drawings as required.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources at project meetings.
  • Development and evaluation of contract specifications for accommodations related RFP's and RFI's in collaboration with WCB Contracting and Procurement Services.
  • Management of IMAC database as administrator and scheduling of move lists and revisions.
  • Coordinate the operation and management of warehouse space dedicated to systems furniture storage.

Your experience and skills:

  • A diploma or degree in Architecture or Design and several years of experience relating to high-rise office buildings and set up of workstations preferably in the public sector environment.
  • Between one to three years of space planning, architecture or design or facilities management.
  • A minimum of two years systems furniture management, reconfiguration, and project coordinator experience.
  • Knowledge of Alberta building code, National Fire Protection Act and OH&S acts, codes, and regulations
  • Understanding of ergonomics relating to an office environment.
  • Knowledge with Auto-CAD, MS Office Suite, and Adobe is required. Familiarity with Teknion T/O/S is an asset.
  • Familiarity with IWMS.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Current WHMIS and First Aid training is preferred.

Salary: Pay Grade 8 $57,910 to $68,085 per annum

This position is temporary for a period of up to one year with the possibility of extension or permanency. Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
