Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Planner to join our team at Edmonton Catholic Schools. As a key member of our Planning and Leases department, you will play a critical role in providing strategic planning advice and expertise to support the Division's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the preparation of the Three-Year Capital, Ten-Year Facilities and Modular Plans, and provide recommendations to senior administration.
  • Project Management: Implement projects and make recommendations to senior administration, ensuring alignment with the Division's strategic objectives.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research, analyze data, and maintain data to support the Division's strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Facility Services, other departments, and external stakeholders to provide services and represent the Division's interests.
  • Policy Development: Provide input into the Division's policy development process and recommend changes to guidelines and procedures.
  • Representation: Represent the Division's interests in meetings with the City of Edmonton, Government of Alberta, and other educational jurisdictions.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Planning or related area, plus five years directly related experience.
  • Skills: Strong research, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical information and advise decision makers.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of planning theory, principles, systems, and processes, as well as project management principles and practices.
  • Membership: Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners is considered an asset.
