DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a senior audio applied scientist with experience and expertise in speech and audio signal processing, machine learning, automatic speech recognition, and/or natural language processing to work on state-of-the-art solutions for applications including speech enhancement, voice analytics, and real-time transcription of conversational audio.

About the team
AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

Utility Computing (UC)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- Experience in building machine learning models for business application
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Expertise in audio signal processing, machine learning, ASR, NLP
- Track record of publication and patents
- Ability to travel internationally 2-3 times a year

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of relevant industry experience in applied science role
- Professional software development experience for a real-time/low latency features
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Track record of publishing state-of-the-art papers, generating intellectual properties, and delivering results

The base salary for this position ranges from $195,900/year up to $327,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
