Role overview

We are seeking a skilled Business System Analyst with a strong background in the banking sector to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will act as a vital link between our IT department and business stakeholders, ensuring the seamless exchange of information and the alignment of technology solutions with business objectives. You will be tasked with analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into actionable technical specifications, all while fostering a collaborative atmosphere among cross-functional teams. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying areas for improvement within banking processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and enriching customer experiences.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and define business requirements and objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of banking systems and processes to identify potential gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure the successful implementation and integration of new systems and enhancements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and provide feedback on system functionality and usability.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for process optimization.
  • Deliver training and support to end-users on new systems and processes.
What you bring to the role

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in the banking industry.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience of banking operations and processes.
  • Proficiency in Data Analytics / Power BI / SQL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
