Lockheed Martin (LM) is a leader sustainment programs, specializing in both small and large scale projects for Canadian and International Navies. As a member of our team, the successful candidate will perform as Deputy Program Manager in Sustainment Programs.

The Deputy Program Manager supports the Program Manager in their execution of their responsibilities as primary manager overall responsible for all aspects of program execution including cost, schedule and performance. They will support the PM in stakeholder management and must have excellent communication and people skills to keep all stakeholders appraised on status and other issues.

  • Assume responsibility as Deputy Project Manager
  • Supports PM for cost, performance and schedule management of the program
  • Lead a multi disciplinary staff on the program
  • Interfaces to customer, senior management and other stakeholders
  • Supports the control of the program within specified Program processes
  • Oversees execution of existing project within the program constraints

What you bring to the role

  • Hold Secret clearance or ability to obtain
  • The candidate will have an appropriate degree from an accredited university (e.g. Engineering, Business, Science, etc.), or equivalent management experience in the sustainment domain.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and an analytical ability to develop and deliver concise presentations
  • 10+ years of experience in complex programs
  • Risk Management experience
  • An operating knowledge of EVM
  • Must be able to establish and maintain relationships
  • Results oriented with an ability to deliver
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors; possess positive attitude; creates and sustain inclusive work environment
  • Ability to influence change at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic and international

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Proven management experience on Canadian defence projects
  • Extensive work experience within a major, international defence contractor
  • LM PM or PMP certification
  • An understanding of the Canadian procurement system
