**Hybrid Work Model**
At Assent, we proudly embrace a remote-first work model, valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team. We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays. For team members situated within 50 kms/31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa, Eldoret, Penang, Columbus, and Amsterdam, you can expect to come into the office one day a week. Similarly, those near our co-working spaces in Nairobi and Toronto are encouraged to work onsite once a month.
**Job Description** Position Summary**
Assent has an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Assent’s corporate sustainability strategy and Executive Sustainability Committee. This is a term opportunity expected to last **14-18 months**.
**Key Requirements & Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the management and execution of the operational functions and activities of the Executive Sustainability Committee (ESC), which will include:
- Meeting planning, including agenda development and ensuring meetings are conducted in line with established governance procedures
- Following up on implementation of decisions made by the ESC
- Supporting committee members, where required, with sustainability goals and objectives.
- Support the development and execution of Assent’s corporate sustainability strategy, which will include:
- Helping ESC members to define and track, and to the extent applicable, meet their sustainability goals and objectives
- Conducting research to inform sustainability strategy development and implementation
- Supporting the ESC with both internal and external sustainability engagement activities
- Coordinate Assent’s annual sustainability reporting:
- Supporting the maintenance and development of tools and processes to facilitate ongoing reporting and data collection from our global offices.
- Equipping and supporting leads to successfully meet their reporting obligations
**Qualifications**
- At least 3 years of program or project management experience with relevant post-secondary education in management or business, environmental law, or similar field
- Skilled collaborator - adept at rallying stakeholders of varying levels of seniority around a common goal, coordinating tasks, and ensuring that everybody works together effectively
- You are determined and persistent in achieving your goals and comfortable pursuing and promoting the engagement of senior leaders in Assent’s corporate sustainability work
- You are comfortable providing strategic feedback
- You have a passion for sustainability and an ambition to grow your knowledge within the realm of ESG and corporate sustainability
