Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will facilitate efficient production operations by planning, leading, and implementing quality assurance (QA) programs. ICE Western Sales requires a dedicated and experienced individual to fulfill the role of Quality Assurance Supervisor. QA Supervisor is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet set standards of quality, reliability and performance.

The QA Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the manufacturing of Air Handling Units. This role involves meticulous oversight at each step of the production process, including Welding, Fabrication, Assembly, Gas Installation, Refrigeration, Electrical Installation, Testing, and Shipping. The successful candidate will execute their duties in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the ICE Quality Assurance Manual.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily quality control workflow/activities of all departments involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Monitoring the conformance of all departments to policies and procedures as they affect the quality of the product and services or conformance to the specified requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with supervisors of various departments to fill in and complete quality control sheets applicable to that specific step in the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for quality systems development.
  • Evaluates production units, ensuring that materials and products meet design and acceptable quality / integrity standards.
  • The preparation of a documented Quality Policy Manual, Quality System procedures, instructions, and forms in accordance with the requirements of the company's stated quality policy.
  • The effective implementation of the documented Quality Assurance Manual, procedures and instructions.
  • Facilitates communication among production departments and design department to resolve any problems identified.
  • Drafts and maintains logs, records, and other documentation of testing procedures, methodologies, and criteria.
  • Maintains records of test results, defects identified, and other key metrics related to quality control.
  • Analyzes quality control test results and offers feedback and interpretations of those results to production management or staff.
  • Drafts and maintains standard operating procedures, manuals, and documentation for the manufacturing and QA processes.
  • Monitors and periodically reports on production quality, nonconformance, trends, and underlying causes of defects in products or processes.
  • Ensuring dimensional data meets associated drawings and specifications.
  • Ensuring all associated paperwork (test forms, inspection forms, drawings) is completed and accurate.
  • Maintaining company's testing equipment, ensuring all equipment is tracked and calibrations current. Coordinate external calibration requirements.
  • Ceases production when serious product defects or risks arise.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with local and global standards of production.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in related industrial, scientific, or business field required;
  • 3 years proven experience in quality control management, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Periods of standing and actively move around production.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
