Laval, Canada SMS Equipment Inc. Full time

At SMS Equipment , our Regional Parts Specialist is responsible for optimizing Stock parts availability and maintaining an optimal inventory level by sourcing all suppliers for assigned SMS East branches. The primary objective of this position is to ensure good customer service by maintaining the right parts inventory. This position is located in Laval.

The shift for this position is 5x2.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Produce purchase orders and forward to various suppliers.
  • Ensure an optimal level of service to our customers while respecting an acceptable inventory level according to the established regional objective.
  • Establish replenishment requirements by branch (weekly).
  • Communicate with the parts department of assigned branches to assess the needs and priorities of all parts to be stocked.
  • Maintain min/max in Extend.
  • Establish and maintain business partnerships with various suppliers.
  • Develop tools for strategic purchasing planning.
  • Monitor inventory availability in relation to the machine population and its movement from one region to another.
  • Manage the risk of obsolescence.
  • Support superior in various projects.
  • Work in the branches assigned to him/her at the frequency agreed with his/her supervisor.
  • Handle downtime situations as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a DEC in administration or equivalent experience.

Additional requirements include :

  • Five (5) years experience in inventory management and procurement.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with heavy equipment (OAS and tractors).
  • Knowledge of integrated systems (ERP)
    Ability to work under pressure.
  • Spoken and written bilingualism (English / French).
  • Good communication skills.
