Our client, a highly regarded Vancouver Island-based co-operative with revenues in excess of $300 million and known for its mission to build strong communities and benefit its member-owners, is seeking a VP, People and Culture.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will advise senior leadership and the Board on strategic HR initiatives, including organizational design, workforce planning, engagement, learning and development, diversity, and inclusion.

Lead the implementation of HR strategies that align with the co-op’s short and long-term business goals and priorities.
Develop and execute business improvements using best practices and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure proactive regulatory compliance with employment standards, human rights, and health and safety laws.
Create, monitor, and manage the annual department plan and related budget to meet organizational goals.
Oversee recruitment strategy and planning, including workforce planning, forecasting, and succession planning.
Implement leadership development practices, including talent reviews, succession planning, and performance management.
Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality protocols to protect employee information and ensure compliance with legal standards.

Undergraduate degree in human resources, business, commerce, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 8 years in senior management.
Excellent communication skills, experience in budgeting and forecasting, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS/payroll software.
