Position Title: Human Resources ManagerLocation: University of Niagara Falls Canada campus (on-site)Reports to: Director, Human Resources The Human Resources Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with university and regulatory standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering a positive and productive work environment. ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources Manager: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with university goals and legal requirements. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective HR investigations and handle employee relations issues. Provide guidance and support to employees and management on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires. Implement and oversee performance management processes, including appraisals, feedback, and development plans. Ensure compliance with federal, local employment laws and university policies. Keep abreast of changes in employment/human rights related legislation. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, JHSC and other applicable legislation. Identify training needs and create or coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Develop and analyze HR metrics to inform strategic decisions. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management. Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. Oversee the administration of the payroll process to ensure reporting and post payroll records have been reconciled and analyzed. Complete compensation analysis on positions and benchmarking Other duties as assigned Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in the position, an individual must be committed to developing, maintaining, and demonstrating the following:Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effectively utilizes key resources and technology for all aspects of the job. Ability to multi-task, while staying flexible and organized; Deadline-driven. Great at early identification of problems and involving others in seeking the best solutions available. Acts with integrity in all decision-making and ensures alignment with management decisions. Aligns departmental priorities with the University’s purpose and strategic plan. Measures outcomes and uses feedback to change as needed. A strong commitment to the mission of the University. Education and Experience: Post Secondary Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of HR Leadership experience, preferably in a higher education setting, coupled with high growth environments. CHRL certification preferred Demonstrated expertise with the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
