Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Coordinator for a major construction project in Rocanville, Saskatchewan. This is a fly-in, fly-out role with a 14/14 rotation schedule, meaning you will work on-site for 14 days and then have 14 days off. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in large-scale construction projects and a proven track record in an owner’s representative role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project owner and construction teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination of mechanical construction activities.
- Oversight and Management: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, pumps, and other critical equipment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry codes, and safety regulations.
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop and manage detailed construction schedules, track progress, and address any deviations from planned timelines.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control costs associated with mechanical construction, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical system issues to minimize project disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including progress reports, inspection records, and change orders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and address mechanical-related concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in mechanical construction coordination with significant experience on large-scale projects.
- Owner Experience: Proven experience as an owner’s representative, with a thorough understanding of project requirements and owner expectations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process systems.
- Project Management Skills: Strong skills in project management, including experience with scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Safety Focus: Proven commitment to safety and experience in implementing safety protocols on large construction sites.
Additional Information:
This role is a fly-in, fly-out position with a 14/14 rotation schedule, requiring travel to and from the site in Rocanville, Saskatchewan. The Mechanical Construction Coordinator will be essential in ensuring the successful installation and integration of mechanical systems on this significant project.
