Position: Safety Manager

Type: Fulltime Permanent

Location: Surrey, BC.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking an extremely skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team based out of Surrey BC. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and customers in multiple dealerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement effective HSE programs.
  • Lead, identify, and manage HSE risk across the region.
  • Monitor HSE effectiveness and report on organizational WHS performance.
  • Mentor and coach team members to positively impact the safety culture.
  • Ability to engage with and influence a sizeable operational workforce ( Unionized and Non-Union).
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in safety regulations.
  • Travel inter-provincial, which may include overnight stays.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least five (5) years in a Health, Safety, and Environmental position.
  • Previous experience with the automotive / Heavy truck industry is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Safety management software titles.
  • Above average communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Is currently working in a similar industry or environment.
