Continuing Education (24OTH14) - 2024 YOUTH SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT

LOCATION: John F. Ross C.V.I., 21 Meyer Drive, Guelph

RATE: $17.00/hour

DATES: July 2 nd – July 26 th , 2024 (8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Work with classroom teachers, special education resource teachers and summer school staff in a supportive role
  • Assist with program delivery both in class and 1:1 with students
  • Be flexible to provide a variety of program accommodations to a variety of learners
  • Be an advocate for students and work with them to develop advocacy skills of their own
  • Maintain a positive rapport with students, colleagues and administration
  • Understand the various needs of students with learning disabilities and support them through their summer school credits
  • Assist learners with technology they may need to utilize in completing summer school course work

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  • Pursuing a career in education is an asset
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience using Google Classroom and/or Brightspace considered an asset
