YOUTH SUMMER EXPERIENCE POSTING SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT


The Upper Grand DSB would like to hire a student to fill the position of a Summer School Assistant for the Guelph Summer School program.


LOCATIONS:
Guelph CVI, 155 Paisley Street, Guelph

RATE:
$17.00/hour

HOURS:
July 4th - July 28th (8:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Work with classroom teachers, special education resource teachers and summer school staff ina supportive role
  • Assist with program delivery both in class and 1:1 with students
  • Be flexible to provide a variety of program accommodations to a variety of learners
  • Be an advocate for students and work with them to develop advocacy skills of their own
  • Maintain a positive rapport with students, colleagues and administration
  • Understand the various needs of students with learning disabilities and support them throughtheir summer school credits
  • Assist learners with technology they may need to utilize in completing summer school coursework

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  • Pursuing a career in education is an asset
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience using Google Classroom and/or Brightspace considered an asset
