SPECIAL EDUCATION RESOURCE TEACHING POSITIONS

**LOCATIONS**:Onsite at Guelph CVI, Guelph and/or GE Education Centre, Orangeville
**RATE**:$41.00/hour
**HOURS**:July 5th - 14th, 2023 (2.25 - 5.5 hours per day)

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The successful applicant(s) will work with the Summer School Supervisor and the Support Program Teachers to support formally and informally identified students registered in Grade 6, 7 and 8 remedial programs in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy. Summer SERTs will:

- understand and be familiar with the Individual Education Plans (IEPs) of students in the program
- understand individual student needs in the context of the remedial program and assist teachers with planning for accommodations
- assist in the adaptation of program materials for identified students in the program(s)
- work with identified students to ensure their proficiency in Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Chat in addition to other assistive technology they may require for success in the program
- communicate collaboratively with teachers, parents, and supervisors/administration re: student needs and student progress
- provide individualized support to students as needed
- assist teacher(s) with the collection of diagnostic/evaluative work

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- currently a qualified Intermediate Teacher/Resource Teacher with a strong knowledge of Grade 6, 7 and 8 Language and Mathematics expectations
- minimum Special Education Part 1 Additional Qualification

**Special Education Resource positions will be based on enrolment of formally & informally identified students in the program.
