YOUTH SUMMER EXPERIENCE POSTING SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Upper Grand DSB would like to hire a student to fill the position of a Summer School Assistant for the Guelph Summer School program.

**LOCATIONS**:Guelph CVI, 155 Paisley Street, Guelph
**RATE**:$17.00/hour
**HOURS**:July 4th - July 28th (8:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

**JOB SUMMARY**:

- Work with classroom teachers, special education resource teachers and summer school staff ina supportive role
- Assist with program delivery both in class and 1:1 with students
- Be flexible to provide a variety of program accommodations to a variety of learners
- Be an advocate for students and work with them to develop advocacy skills of their own
- Maintain a positive rapport with students, colleagues and administration
- Understand the various needs of students with learning disabilities and support them throughtheir summer school credits
- Assist learners with technology they may need to utilize in completing summer school coursework

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- Pursuing a career in education is an asset
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Experience using Google Classroom and/or Brightspace considered an asset
