Business Development & sales Manager:

The goal is to develop our National and international markets.

The position is available to our Montreal office but can also be hybrid

Must ideally reside in Canada.

Must have experience in the field of construction, design, and/or lighting.

We are searching for individuals that could represent us in Canada and internationally, with a special focus on the US and the Middle East.

 

You would be responsible for identifying, evaluating and monitoring business contacts in accordance with the firm’s requirements, and internal policies and procedures. Work closely with the director and senior designers. The roles is to represent and promote our company on a National and International level.

 

We are looking for an energetic, creative and hard-working, individual who is committed to growing their career with our boutique Montréal Lightning design team. You will work closely with the director and senior designers, from generating leads to co-ordinating winning proposals to developing social media and website content.

Our role is fulltime and based in Montreal or hybrid

You’re a driving force behind generating new sales leads and contacts. As a successful business development and marketing manager, you’re eager to use your skills and talent to represent and promote our company, locally and Internationally. 

 

You’re results driven, highly organized and have a keen eye for details, ensuring a high standard of quality in everything you do. You are able to handle multiple responsibilities at a time. You’re flexible and love variety in your work. You thrive in a fast-paced, team environment where no two days are the same.

 

 

What you bring  

· Strong technical and computer skills, including;

  • high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • knowledge of CRM, we use Pipeline
  • social media and Constant Contact know-how
  • Experience in the field of construction, design, Architecture and/or lighting
  • Bilingual FR/EN is an asset
  • Excellent writer and presenter
  • Creative thinking to improve processes and make a difference

 

There are two facets to this position:  

  • Business Development

What you’ll do: Find and create new opportunities/projects and strategically manage new/existing relationships.

  •  
  • Research/identify firms who have the capacity and scope of work for lighting design services.
  • Develop/maintain a database of key firms/individuals; interior designers, architects, exhibition designers etc.,
  • Create pitch materials/presentations for selected target markets/clients: hospitality, retail, transportation
  • Contact the firms/individuals directly to introduce our team/service, set up meetings, confirm attendance and conduct presentations.
  • Follow-up with key contacts on a regular basis to keep Lightemotion front of mind.
  • Conduct searches for RFP/PRQ and EOI.
  • Monitor trade media and project announcements to source opportunities.
  • Write and co-ordinate persuasive proposals for clients and follow-up to close opportunity.
  • If won : ensure contract is signed and necessary project information shared with designers and accounting.
  • If lost : conduct debrief, update CRM and share client feedback to improve success rate.
  • Update proposal templates, CV’s, project sheets.
  • Track and report on opportunity status: update CRM daily /weekly to produce real-time reports and information

 

2.Marketing

  • What you’ll do: Build awareness of Lightemotion services and make regular contact with clients to facilitate the relationship between Lightemotion and new/existing clients.
  • Develop a schedule and distribution plan - print and electronic marketing for trade, client and social media channels.
  • Review all promotional materials to ensure a consistent “voice” across all marketing platforms to effectively reach key targets and create a “Call to Action”.
  • Generate and distribute Quarterly E-newsletter- research and write all copy including tag lines, copy and captions.
  • Update/curate website content if needed.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases.
  • Manage incoming marketing/media requests.
  • Ensure articles are posted on websites and added to newsletters.
