Scope of Position:

The Logistics Coordinator maintains tracking and documentation of all inbound domestic or import vendors, makes appropriate decisions regarding freight brokerage, updates the ERP system, maintains the receiving schedule for all inbound traffic and ensures receipt and invoice matching. The role primarily deals with inbound logistics and supporting the Supply Chain Department; however, the incumbent is also expected to maintain some planning/buying portfolios as assigned. There is heavy use of the company’s ERP system and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities:
  1. Track Purchase Orders and their movement once shipped.
  2. Maintain a tracking report of all outstanding purchase orders.
  3. Book all receiving appointments.
  4. Communicate with Freight companies, resolve issues and review rates to ensure competitiveness.
  5. Prepare paperwork for Finance department as part of 3-way match procedure.
  6. Identify discrepancies with invoices compared to Purchase Order and advise the buyer.
  7. Close communication with Distribution Dept. as it relates to the receiving dept.
  8. Daily interactions with Customs Brokers and Truckers.
  9. Maintain small buyer/planner portfolio.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Excellent investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in both official languages is required.

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing/distribution environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and advanced Excel skills are an asset.
  • Strong land and sea logistics background is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • CPIM Certification or on track to be certified is a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of ERP software systems.

Salary:

$47,000 to $56,000 per year based on experience
