POSITION SUMMARY  

Economic Development Winnipeg’s (EDW) mission is to promote and influence economic growth in Winnipeg. The team is made up of passionate Winnipeggers who build connections across our city and diverse industries to lead, facilitate and promote Winnipeg’s economic development and tourism efforts. Economic Development Winnipeg, which encompasses YES Winnipeg and Tourism Winnipeg is seeking a Marketing Coordinator for summer 2024 (May-August 30) to assist in creating social media content and other marketing activities to promote Winnipeg as a tourist and business destination.

RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS   

  • Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to create content that is specific for our leisure tourism and economic development sectors and markets;
  • Increase engagement through social media posts and interactions with targeted audiences to grow and expand Economic Development Winnipeg’s social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn;
  • Assist with the development of digital ads and boosted social media posts, while monitoring and managing the accounts; and
  • Support the Marketing team and other teams within the organization at events and initiatives throughout the summer. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Photography, video shooting and editing, and graphic design skills;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently;
  • Affable, driven and creative; and 
  • Bilingualism/multilingualism is an asset.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE  

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary marketing/communications/journalism program or a recent graduate;
  • Experience in social media management or marketing coordination is preferred;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Office 365 products including Teams is preferred;
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products including Photoshop, Premiere and InDesign is preferred;
  • Experience with CRM platforms is an asset; and
  • Project management experience is an asset.
