Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a 4-month Environmental Summer Student at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This summer student position will run from May 1 st to September 1 st, 2023.

Essential Responsibilities

Aid in coordinating the Environmental Management System (EMS) for Magellan Aerospace Winnipeg using ISO 14001 requirements as a guideline.

Document monitoring and maintain pollution prevention systems.

Maintain chemical inventory and SDS database management.

Monitor hazardous waste and domestic waste.

Help coordinate spill response with the Emergency Response Team.

Aid in completing spill response investigations and corrective actions

Coordinate meeting and actions for Magellan's Green Team, such as waste, energy, water reductions.

Other administrative duties as required.

Canadian Environmental Regulations (Municipal, Provincial and Federal).

Chemistry and chemical handling.

ISO 14001 Standards.

Enrollment in Environmental Science or Studies or similar degree program is preferred, but not required.

Computer literate with strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Environment and Health impacts considered an asset.

Occupational safety and health legislation/regulations considered an asset.
