Reception Clerk/ Scheduler

You are a highly organized individual, adept at managing complex schedules and handling multiple tasks with efficiency. With a keen eye for detail, you ensure accuracy in arranging staff shifts and leaves, minimizing errors in scheduling. You’re also very adaptable, which allows you to handle the dynamic nature of scheduling and navigate through frequent changes and unexpected events with ease. Your excellent communication skills enable you to liaise seamlessly with team members, managers, and other stakeholders, facilitating smooth scheduling processes. In the face of challenges, you display exceptional problem-solving abilities, finding creative solutions to conflicts and staffing shortages. Your empathetic approach fosters positive relationships with the team, making you approachable when addressing requests for time off or dealing with emergencies. By embracing technology, you are comfortable with computerized scheduling systems. You should have a high school diploma (Grade 12) and at least one year of experience working in a fast-paced union environment. Familiarity with MS Office, especially Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word, is considered advantageous.
About The Role
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring efficient staffing arrangements in the workplace. You'll be responsible for adjusting schedules to accommodate various factors, such as leaves of absence, vacancies, terminations, and vacations, while adhering to relevant collective agreements. You will receive and record notifications from team members to determine availability, calculate team-to-patient ratios, and arrange relief coverage accordingly using a computerized system. You’ll also actively participate in unit and team meetings and report any risks or safety concerns to your supervisor. Additionally, you’ll contribute to fostering a culture of health and safety, following infection control policies, and promoting safe working practices among team members. Overall, your role will be pivotal in maintaining smooth and effective staffing operations. This a casual position and you will report to the HR manager.
