Business Development Manager Location:
We are seeking a, Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Director, Business Development and focus on winning new business within the Department of Defense and Shared Services Canada market, with expertise in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering Support Services.
Prepare Canadian market strategies and long-range Business Development plans for review with the current BD Director and the Critical Networks/Mission Sustainment Business Development leads.
Identify, qualify, pursue, and bid on large ($100M+) and small new business opportunities.
Maintain awareness of the economic and political environment, staying informed about competitive market offerings and new technologies to inform business strategy.
Provide sound business judgment and innovative approaches to business challenges, translating strategic plans into operating results.
Develop customer relationships to expand the local domestic market.
Meet clients' needs prior to contract execution, providing advice, liaison, and planning to prospective and current clients.
Lead project proposal pursuits by understanding client needs and promoting organizational capacity advantages in the development of proposals and presentations.
Oversee the development of responses to LOIs, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and other requests for information related to growth and Business Development.
Plan and direct BD/Capture/proposal activities to achieve wins and generate revenue.
Maintain a comprehensive CRM system to track leads, customer interactions, and project progress.
Solid understanding of new business identification, qualification, capture, bid, and proposal processes.
Knowledge of Teaming Agreement development and negotiations.
Ability to hold a SECRET Security Clearance and Controlled Goods Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related technical field; MBA preferred.
Expertise in DND Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Innovation Science and Economic Development (ISED) customer intimacy, including overall knowledge of organizational structure, buying methods, existing and emerging deals, and the competitive landscape.
Good understanding of the DND marketplace (customer needs, preferences, policies, and operational concepts).
Experience with sales funnel and discretionary resources financial management.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
