The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with 5 or more years of OTR (off the road) tire experience, in the mining industry. The individual will have expertise in OTR tire construction and field engineering techniques, be able to provide technical sales and service, monitor sales targets and report all product activities within the assigned accounts. The candidate’s background includes a record of achievement, proactive mindset, and a history of increasing responsibility. Creativity, organization, managing customer accounts/business relationships and increasing the value of Bridgestone and Firestone brand OTR tires. This also includes meeting and exceeding a wide variety of customer service expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are to partner with mine customers, dealers and the Commercial Sales team to:

· Increase Bridgestone market share in OTR Tires and Mobility Solutions.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with personnel at all levels of the assigned key mining companies to ensure profitable business growth and long-term alliances with the mining companies.
  • Manage and maintain a process for the monitoring and reporting of Bridgestone and Firestone brand OTR product performance, to include technology sales and data, at assigned Mining Locations.
  • Identifying potential product and customer operational improvement opportunities
  • Analyze and/or report to customers all relevant factors which could contribute and/or hinder product performance
  • Analyze and report on Bridgestone/Firestone tire performance versus competitive products
  • Identify and implement methods and programs to improve tire performance and reduce customer total cost of ownership
  • Provide education in safety, tire knowledge and best practices to local dealer and end users
  • Conduct scrap tire analysis and report on needed product changes and improvements
  • Manage the forecast and supply process for assigned mine sites to ensure Bridgestone provides the right product at the right time.
  • Provide sales support at the local dealer and mine level to grow Bridgestone and Firestone OTR tire business, along with Mobility Solutions, and identify and promptly resolve open business issues
  • Develop good working relationships with assigned accounts.
  • Resolve customer concerns and deliver a high level of customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university (Engineering, Sales, or Mining Engineering preferred).
  • 5 plus years of progressively responsible tire related experience (OTR preferred) in a mining environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of OTR (off the road) tire construction and field engineering techniques
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to travel frequently to visit assigned accounts, attend special dealer events and required sales meetings (Approximately 50%-75% travel), domestically. Also to the USA as required.

  • Ability to display professional conduct and communicate effectively at all organization levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong negotiation, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Location: Western Canada – **candidate to be located in the Calgary or Edmonton areas
