We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Leader to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing operations, leading a team of people, supervisors, team leaders including unionized associates, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing department. This role will also involve managing engineering projects, implementing lean manufacturi ng principles, and require working weekend nights to ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the manufacturing department, ensuring production targets are met or exceeded.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of unionized associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and increase productivity.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business , Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing people leadership role, with a strong background in managing engineering projects and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Experience in a Unionized environment is a must
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset
  • Flexibility to work weekend nights as required.
