About the Role: 

A CCTV / Dispatcher plays an important role in keeping the spectators and staff of our live events safe. Working under the Risk Management Director they are responsible for ensuring all radio communications are monitored, recorded, and directed to the appropriate staff, entering incident information into the event report, and monitoring event CCTV.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor event radio traffic across all active channels
  • Document and enter accurate records of incidents, including timestamps, descriptions, and actions taken into the Event Report
  • Ensure radio transmissions were properly received
  • Monitor live CCTV feeds to identify and assess potential security threats or incidents.
  • Dispatch security personnel or emergency services to respond to incidents as necessary.
  • Fully understand each events Emergency Action Plan
  • Work with the Risk Management team and on-site contractors to support patron safety.
  • Attend Safety and Security meetings to review areas of responsibilities, provide input into agenda items and support delivering key messages
  • Play an active role during event Show Pause and Stoppages
  • Conduct event or site observations and record improvement opportunities with follow up actions
  • Monitor recorded improvement opportunities to ensure corrective actions are being implemented and complied with.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience working in a similar role in a related industry (911, Marine, Air Dispatch, Live Events, Security, Medical, Emergency Services, Military) is an asset.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with 2-way radios
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of CCTV operations, installation, and maintenance 
  • Understanding of security protocols and procedures
  • Ability to maintain tact composure during high-stress situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to change
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Contribute to team morale with a positive attitude and the ability to receive and implement feedback
  • Ability to both take direction and show initiative
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality with a mature personal judgement and a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work; days, evenings, and weekends including holidays. The hours of work are based on customers and business needs

Work Environment:

As the role will also work onsite during our events, there will be work on weekends and holidays with longer workdays typical of event hours. Some events will require travel outside of the city, during such periods Projects will provide accommodations, meal arrangements, and any travel expenses.
