Our client is a well known and reputable Calgary litigation boutique firm located in downtown Calgary. They are looking for a legal assistant with personal injury litigation experience to join their team. This role will support a busy litigation defence practice. The ideal candidate will have experience as personal injury legal assistant, be extremely detail oriented, self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a full calendar, email management, and managing lawyers’ practice;
  • Manage all aspects of busy legal practice including client relationship management, file organization and management, scheduling of questioning, meditations, and meetings, diarization and various administrative tasks as required;
  • Draft correspondence to clients, legal counsel and the Courts;
  • Draft court documents including Statement of Defence, Affidavits of Records, Applications and Affidavits as directed by lawyer;
  • Arrange court filings and applications; and
  • Maintain efficient file management and bring forward system.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of five years experience in the area of personal injury litigation;
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, deadlines, and prioritize the same accordingly;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent management skills, able to multi-task, have good judgment and the ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Strong computer knowledge, especially MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Pro; and
  • Experience with NetDocuments and Soluno is not required but considered an asset.
