Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine
Innovative and creative scientists are invited to apply for a faculty position that will be jointly appointed in the Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine Programs at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI).
We are searching for an outstanding scientist to establish and build an internationally competitive research program in the areas of stem cell and/or regenerative medicine research. We are interested in all aspects of neural stem cell biology ranging from molecular regulation of stem cell function, transcription, epigenetics, omics, signaling, cell-cell interactions, human stem cell biology, organoid models, tissue-specific stem cells, regeneration, pluripotency and reprogramming, ageing, and the application of stem cells in disease modeling and regenerative medicine, and their translation to novel regenerative therapies. The successful candidate will join an exciting multidisciplinary group of biomedical investigators at the OHRI that includes molecular biologists, cell biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinician researchers, who have their primary appointment either in the Neuroscience or in the Regenerative Medicine program. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Scientist at the OHRI and will have the opportunity to be appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct a vigorous program of independent, externally funded research, teach at the graduate level, attract excellent trainees, students, and future researchers, and work in a highly collaborative environment.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
Candidates must have a PhD (or doctoral equivalent) and completed postdoctoral training demonstrating outstanding achievement in their field. The successful candidate will have an interest in working in a multidisciplinary environment to address important research questions in neuroscience, stem cell biology and/or regenerative medicine.
