As an ISO 13485 certified manufacturer, we are seeking a Research Scientist to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and contribute to our mission of exceeding client expectations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Research Scientist will collaborate closely with the Director of Research, focusing on the development, optimization, and scaling of lyophilization processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Respond promptly to technical inquiries and customer questions.
  • Provide technical support in freeze-drying and analytical testing methods.
  • Coordinate multiple projects, experiments, and client meetings.
  • Lead customer meetings and present data findings.
  • Conduct thermal analysis of complex reagent mixtures using various analytical methods.
  • Design testing procedures and protocols for material analysis.
  • Analyze the relationship between product morphology and thermal properties.
  • Prepare data summaries based on testing results.
  • Optimize freeze-dry cycle settings based on material properties.
  • Offer technical expertise for client projects.
  • Assist junior scientists and other departments with freeze-drying knowledge.
  • Lead validation and verification efforts for new methods and equipment.
  • Document work instructions and maintain product development records.
  • Oversee laboratory maintenance, including equipment upkeep and supply management.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and troubleshoot production issues.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ISO13485, GMPs, CE, and FDA regulations for medical devices.
  • Strong organizational and data management capabilities.
  • Capacity to manage various responsibilities under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to quality and deadlines with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • PhD or Master's degree in physics, physical chemistry, or material sciences.
  • Two to five years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting.
  • Hands-on experience with Differential Scanning Calorimetry and thermal analysis techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles.
  • Experience in developing freeze-dry protocols is a significant asset.
  • Familiarity with freeze-dry microscopy is beneficial.
