As an ISO 13485 certified manufacturer, we are currently seeking a Research Scientist to enhance our team. This role is ideal for individuals eager to contribute to a dynamic environment focused on exceeding client expectations.

Position Overview

The Research Scientist will collaborate closely with the Director of Research, focusing on the development, optimization, and scaling of lyophilization processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high-level professional relationships with clients.
  • Respond promptly to technical inquiries and customer questions.
  • Provide technical support in freeze-drying and analytical testing methods.
  • Lead multiple projects, ensuring timely execution and effective communication.
  • Organize and facilitate client meetings, presenting comprehensive data summaries.
  • Conduct thermal analysis of complex reagent mixtures using DSC, FDM, and other methods.
  • Design testing procedures and protocols for material analysis.
  • Analyze the relationship between product morphology and thermal properties.
  • Prepare detailed data summaries based on testing results.
  • Optimize freeze-dry cycle settings based on material properties.
  • Offer technical expertise to support client projects.
  • Assist junior scientists and collaborate with other departments.
  • Lead validation and verification efforts for new methods and equipment.
  • Draft and revise work instructions.
  • Manage laboratory maintenance tasks, including equipment upkeep and inventory management.
  • Handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Support laboratory operations through various assigned tasks.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives as directed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ISO13485, GMPs, CE, and FDA regulations for medical devices.
  • Excellent organizational and data management skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to quality and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Education and Experience
  • PhD or Master's degree in physics, physical chemistry, or material sciences.
  • Two to five years of relevant industrial laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Differential Scanning Calorimetry and thermal analysis techniques is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of scientific principles related to the field.
  • Experience in developing freeze-dry protocols is a significant asset.
  • Familiarity with freeze-dry microscopy is beneficial.
