Story Behind The Need
Scotiabank’s Global Technology & Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) – Office of Software Currency manages the on the Enterprise Software Currency Framework. We are responsible to develop and implement the banks overall software currency framework. We lead efforts around the execution and development of software currency remediation plans. The main responsibility of the Technical Leads is to review the software currency remediation plans created by the application owners. Typical Day In Role- Review software currency remediation plans created by the application owners
- Understand and review timelines and dependencies
- Working with technical team members within matrix environments communicate with application stakeholders on plan deficiencies and/or improvements
- Reporting on overall plans status and details
- Identifying trends in deficiencies and possibility of improvements in plan development
- Reporting to the Infrastructure Architect Specialist
- 3-4 years of Project Management experience, defining dependencies and end-to-end process flow
- 3-4 years of technical experience as a Solutions Architect, proven experience with delivery technical solutions
- Understanding of designing system, network, and application architectures; both cloud and hybrid technologies
- Working in enterprise environments
- Previous exposure to the banking industry/financial services is preferred
- Working experience with MS Excel
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization
- Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction
- Clear, crisp and tight communication skills
- Well organized and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence various levels of key stakeholders and push project results forward
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies
- Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related IT field is an asset
- Certified Network Technician
- First round video interview – Hiring Manager and Program Manager (30 minutes)
- Second round video interview – Hiring Manager, Program Manager & Engagement Manager (30 minutes)
- Interview will cover both technical skills and soft skills (assess communication and problem-solving skills)
